Republica Phuketia — Upcoming Releases (in Exile)

Since November 5 and continuing until early March 2019, the Republica Phuketia government (that’s me) has been in exile, residing in the neighboring province’s Thai Chang subdistrict of Amphoe Muang Phang Nga. Of course, that includes Posta Phuketia which will become a cross-provincial service with the release this weekend of ten definitive stamps, rather than merely a local post. We may have to annex a small piece of territory (namely the Foreign Teachers’ Room at Ban Thai Chang Municipality School) and initiate overprints to denote the longer reach.

However, I still must return to Phuket (a two-hour drive from Phang Nag) each Friday in order to teach a two-hour class on Saturday mornings and, thus, the first Phuketian definitives will be released today, November 24, at Posta Phuketia Headquarters. These consist of ten denominations:

Some lovely looking stamps there, Mark. I am glad they will soon manifest on the physical plane.
    Thanks for the entertaining post.

Sir, this is not a reply/comment, but rather a query.
I am the producer of CD Catalogues of Local Posts from around the world (besides my being President of Local Post Collectors Society). I am updating the section on Muang Phuket / Republica Phuketia Local Posts and I found a problem.
Your RPLP commences at Ph29 with the Festival set. Yet there is a MPLP Philately stamp overprinted “Phuketia” and a new value. So surely this should be the first RPLP stamp.
Even excluding this item, I have already 29 items inscribed MPLP, so somewhere, either I have 2 items too many or your numbering lacks two numbers.
Items I have for MPLP :
    1 – Iconic Clock Tower, 2 – Post Box, 3 – Gettysburg Address, 4 – Kennedy, 5-10 Christmas,
    11- Thai US Friendship, 12 – WWI Centenarial, 13-14 Tsunami, 15 – Penny Black, 16 – 26 ASEAN Flags, 27 – WLPD 2015, 28 – Thai-US Frienship, 29 – WLPD 2017.
Looking forward to receiving your earliest reply.

Sorry for the lateness of my reply; I usually don’t check my pending comments until I begin to prepare a new article….

I will send you a copy of the MPLP 2015 catalogue; I hope to find the time to update it in the near future. You have two extra stamps on your list — 27: WLPD 2015 was actually the Penny Black release (15) and WLPD 2017 (29) never happened.

Thus, a summary of issues with the release dates follows:
MUANG PHUKET LOCAL POST (“last day of use” – 26 October 2018)
1 – Talat Yai Police Station (“iconic clock tower”) – 9 October 2013
2 – World Post Day (Thailand Post pillar box) – 9 October 2013
      3 – 150th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address – 15 November 2013
      4 – 50th Anniversary of Kennedy Assassination – 22 November 2013
      5 – 180th Anniversary of Thai-U.S. Diplomatic Relations – 11 December 2013
      6, 7 – Phuketian Christmas (2 values, 2 designs) – 25 December 2013
      8, 9, 10, 11 – Christmas in Thailand (4 designs) – 25 December 2013
12 – Centennial of World War I (World Local Post Day) – 27 January 2014
      13, 14 – 10th Anniversary of the Boxing Day Tsunami – 26 December 2014
      15 – 175th Anniversary of the Penny Black (WLPD) – 26 January 2015
16-26 – ASEAN Day (Flags of Members and ASEAN Community) – 8 August 2015
      27 – Definitive (“Philately”) – 5 December 2017

      REPUBLICA PHUKETIA
28 – Overprinted MPLP Definitive (Surcharged with New Currency) – 27 October 2018
      29-36 – Vegetarian Festival (8 designs) – 31 October 2018
      37-46 – Definitives (10 designs) – 30 November 2018 (delayed release)

      Upcoming releases (stamps printed):
      47, 48, 49 – Bicentennial of U.S.-Thai Friendship (3 designs) – 12 December 2018 (changed date)
50 – Souvenir Sheet (Phuket Island Map with block of four stamps numbered a-d) – 21 December 2018

      ECC POST (a sub-service of Posta Phuketia handling mail at school English Camps as needed);
      51-55 – English Camp 2019 (4 designs, triangular shaped) – TBA

      Thank you for your interest.

Thank you very much for your attention, and information you have sent me. I will now correlate this into my catalogue. Looking forward to seeing your future issues. Have a great week.
By the way, would you prefer to have Muang Phuket and Republika Phuketia as two separateentries, or as one following on the other?

I know I am becoming a nuisance, but just one last comment (for now). Why the numbers 50 a-d, surely as separate designs on each stamp, even if they are part of a composite, they should be numbered 50-53, with the Sheet as MS1, or 54.
