Philatelic History

Philately is the most attractive postal activity

Post of Kosovo Philately was established on March 15, 2000, launching its first edition of postage stamps under the peace theme. The first edition contained five postage stamps along with the envelope of the First Day Cover.

Since then, continuously various images of postage stamps are issued.

These postage stamps have different themes such as International Day of Peace, flora, and fauna of Kosovo; handicrafts, archaeological discoveries, numismatics of Kosovo, works of art, etc.

In addition to beautiful stamps, Kosovo Philately also produces First Day Covers and various philatelic blocks.

Kosovo Philately continually participates in philatelic exhibitions, many competitions for the selection of the most beautiful postage stamps, as well as in numerous philatelic fairs where every year new postage stamps are presented. During 2017, Post of Kosovo postage stamps received two prestigious awards, the first prize in the “San Gabriel” competition in Verona, for the stamp with the best religious content in the world, and the fifth-place prize in the “Premio Internazionale d’Arte Filatelica” competition in Asiago, Italy, for the most beautiful thematic stamp in the world.
