Local Post

I have run a hobbyist local post since October 2013. It was originally called the Muang Phuket Local Post and I did some limited deliveries within the Muang district of Old Phuket Town; Tuk-Tuk Express was our primary service while the Elephant Post and Santa Mail never quite got off the drawing board . . .

The first issue marked World Post Day 2013. Since then, there has been 62 different stamp designs issued. In 2018, the micronation of Republica Phuketia was established complete with a passport. The first Posta Phuketia release being an overprint with surcharge due to a change in currency while the first commemorative marked the famous Phuket Vegetarian Festival held each October. Our Coronavirus release in early 2021 proved popular but, to date, that is the most recent issue.

Due to time constraints, our tenth anniversary will be marked with another overprint — this time on a miniature sheet first issued in December 2018 including four stamps that together form the complete map of our island (catalogue number Ph 50). This will be released in very limited quantities on 9 October 2023 (less than 20 of the original sheets remain and I will keep one or two for the archives).

Eventually, this page will include the full Posta Phuketia catalogue (last updated in 2015 so I have some work to do!) and links to other hobbyist local posts.
